Prof. Frede Blaabjerg
Biography: Frede Blaabjerg (S’86–M’88–SM’97–F’03) was with ABB-Scandia, Randers, Denmark, from 1987 to 1988. From 1988 to 1992, he got the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering at Aalborg University in 1995. He became an Assistant Professor in 1992, an Associate Professor in 1996, and a Full Professor of power electronics and drives in 1998. From 2017 he became a Villum Investigator.
His current research interests include power electronics and its applications such as in wind turbines, PV systems, reliability, harmonics and adjustable speed drives. He has published more than 500 journal papers in the fields of power electronics and its applications. He is the co-author of two monographs and editor of 7 books in power electronics and its applications.
He has received 24 IEEE Prize Paper Awards, the IEEE PELS Distinguished Service Award in 2009, the EPE-PEMC Council Award in 2010, the IEEE William E. Newell Power Electronics Award 2014 and the Villum Kann Rasmussen Research Award 2014. He was the Editor-in- Chief of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER ELECTRONICS from 2006 to 2012. He has been Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Power Electronics Society from 2005 to 2007 and for the IEEE Industry Applications Society from 2010 to 2011 as well as 2017 to 2018. In 2018 he is President Elect of IEEE Power Electronics Society.
He is nominated in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 by Thomson Reuters to be between the most 250 cited researchers in Engineering in the world. In 2017 he became Honoris Causa at University Politehnica Timisoara (UPT), Romania.
Dr. Vivek De
Biography : Vivek De is an Intel Fellow and Director of Circuit Technology Research in Intel Labs. He is responsible for providing strategic technical directions for long term research in future circuit technologies and leading energy efficiency research across the hardware stack. He has 266 publications in refereed international conferences and journals with a citation H-index of 68, and 219 patents issued with 31 more patents filed (pending). He received an Intel Achievement Award for his contributions to an integrated voltage regulator technology. He received a Best Paper Award at the 1996 IEEE International ASIC Conference, and nominations for Best Paper Awards at the 2007 IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC) and 2008 IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD). He also co-authored a paper nominated for the Best Student Paper Award at the 2017 IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM). One of his publications was recognized in the 2013 IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC) as one of the "Top 10 Cited Papers in 50 Years of DAC". Another one of his publications received the “Most Frequently Cited Paper Award” in the IEEE Symposium on VLSI Circuits at its 30th Anniversary in 2017. He was recognized as a Prolific Contributor to the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) at its 60th Anniversary in 2013, and a Top 10 Contributor to the IEEE Symposium on VLSI Circuits at its 30th Anniversary in 2017 . He served as an IEEE/EDS Distinguished Lecturer in 2011 and an IEEE/SSCS Distinguished Lecturer in 2017-18. He received the 2017 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. He received a B.Tech from IIT Madras, India, a MS from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, and a PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, all in Electrical Engineering. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
Dr. Harish Krishnaswamy
Biography: Harish Krishnaswamy received the B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, India, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He joined the EE department of Columbia University as an Assistant Professor in 2009.
He received the IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) Lewis Winner Award for Outstanding Paper in 2007. He also received the Best Thesis in Experimental Research Award from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering in 2009, and the DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2011.
Dr. Vassilios G. Agelidis
Biography: He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Democritus University of Thrace, Thrace, Greece, in 1988, the M.S. degree in applied science from Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia, in 1997. From 1993 to 1999, was with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Curtin University of Technology. In 2000, he joined the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, U.K., as a Research Manager for the Center for Economic Renewable Power Delivery. In addition, he has authored/coauthored several journal and conference papers as well as Power Electronic Control in Electrical Systems (Newnes, 2002). From January 2005 to December 2007, he was the inaugural Chair in Power Engineering in the School of Electrical, Energy, and Process Engineering, Murdoch University, Perth. Since January 2007, he has held the Energy Australia Chair of Power Engineering at the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia. Dr. Agelidis received the Advanced Research Fellowship from the U.K.’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC-UK) in 2004. He was the Vice President Operations within the IEEE Power Electronics Society for 2006-2007. He was an Associate Editor of the IEEE POWER ELECTRONICS LETTERS from 2003 to 2005, and served as the PELS Chapter Development Committee Chair from 2003 to 2005. He is currently an AdCom member of IEEE PELS for 2007-2009. He has been the Technical Chair of the 39th IEEE PESC’08, Rhodes, Greece.
Dr. J. L. Raheja
Biography :Dr. J L Raheja is the Chief Scientist and Group Head of Control and Automation Group, CEERI Pilani. He has vast experience of more than two decades in Academics & Industrial Research. He joined CEERI Pilani in 1990 as a scientist. He had positions of Visiting Scientist at GMD Birlinghoven, TU Dortmund, TU Munich Germany, UCL London UK and University of Maribor, Slovenia.
His main contribution is towards novel techniques for unobtrusive sensing of human health, novel signal and computer-vision processing algorithms, and integration of computer-based solutions from the system level to human-machine interfaces.
He has authored and co-authored over 100 scientific journal and conference papers and granted 05 patents and 03 copyrights. He had participated in 14 national and international projects, of which he led 9 projects. At present, he is leading four projects and one of them is an international collaboration between Slovenia and India.

Dr. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari
Biography :Dr. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, since 18th August 2000.He has served this Department in the capacity of HOD for three years during May 2008 – May 2011. He has also served as Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science (March 2001 – August 2004), and as Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Information Technology (Nov. 2002 – August 2004) at JamiaHamdard(Hamdard University), New Delhi. Prof. Ansari did his B. Tech. from AMU, Aligarh, and received the M. Tech. and Ph. D. degrees from IIT Delhi and JMI, New Delhi, respectively. His researches are in the areas of Computer Networks, Networks-on-Chip, Image Processing and Fuzzy Logic. He has published about a hundred research papers in refereed International and National Journals and proceedings of conferences.
Prof. Ansari received the Rajarambapu Patil National Award for Promising Engineering Teacher for Creative Work Done in Technical Education for the year 2011 awarded by the Indian Society for Technical Education. He also received the Best Paper Award at the Indian Science Congress held at New Delhi in 2001. Prof. Ansari is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), the National Telematics Forum, India, and the IETE. He is a Senior Member of IEEE (USA) and the Computer Society of India. Prof. Ansari is currently the Chairman of the IEEE–Computational Intelligence Society, Delhi Chapter; Honorary Secretary, ISTE Jamia Chapter; and Faculty Advisor, ISTE-JMI Students Chapter.
Dr. Brajesh Kumar Kaushik
Brajesh Kumar Kaushik received his Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2007 from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. He joined Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of technology, Roorkee, as Assistant Professor in December 2009; and since April 2014 he has been an Associate Professor. He has served as General Chair, Technical Chair, and Keynote Speaker of many reputed international and national conferences. Dr. Kaushik is a Senior Member of IEEE and member of many expert committees constituted by government and non-government organizations.
He is Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of VLSI Design & Communication Systems (VLSICS), AIRCC Publishing Corporation. He also holds the position of Editor of Microelectronics Journal (MEJ), Elsevier Inc.; Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology (JEDT), Emerald Group Publishing Limited; and Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Research (JEEER), Academic Journals. He has received many awards and recognitions from the International Biographical Center (IBC), Cambridge. His name has been listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering® and Marquis Who’s Who in the World®. Dr. Kaushik has been conferred with Distinguished Lecturer award of IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) to offer EDS Chapters with quality lectures in his research domain. His research interests are in the areas of high-speed interconnects, low-power VLSI design, memory design, carbon nanotube-based designs, organic electronics, FinFET device circuit co-design, electronic design automation (EDA), spintronics-based devices, circuits and computing, image processing, and optics and photonics based devices. .
